Unigel is installing in Bahia, at the Camaçari Industrial Complex, the first green hydrogen plant in Brazil. In the location chosen for its installation, there will be no lack of air, sun and water, notably the latter, extracted from the aquifer source of excellent quality that has already attracted bottlers of mineral water and factories of soft drinks and beer. The plant is expected to start operating in 2023, with an estimated investment of US$ 120 million and will have a capacity of 10,000 t/year in the first phase, reaching 40,000 t/year in 2025. It will be, at the time, the largest hydrogen plant green in the world, far surpassing Iberdrola's Spanish factory, which operates at a capacity of 3,000 t/year.
