Ammonia import terminal to open in Liverpool, UK



The Stanley terminal will have (1) draft sufficient to receive VLCC type vessels (2) cryogenic ammonia storage tanks (3) Green Hydrogen cracking facility (4) Distribution facilities (5) connection system for the hydrogen (8) connection system for the hydrogen transport hub.


The development is part of ETT, Essar Energy Transition, an Indian group that is investing £3.6 billion in low carbon projects globally. The group was formed in February 2023 to help North East England become a leading post-carbon industrial cluster in Europe.
